651 SQUADRON 75TH ANNIVERSARY COMMEMORATIVE EVENT

Sunday 7th August 2016 11:00, at Old Sarum airfield

 

To celebrate the formation of the first AOP Squadron 75 years ago in 1941, Old Sarum is hosting an invitation-only event on Sunday 7th August.

Please contact Andrew Simkins if you wish to attend, and he will issue you with a pass - this event is not open to the public, and you will not be able to enter the airfield without this pass.

We are expecting various aircraft to fly in for the day, which will of course include Austers.  The Historic Aircraft Flight Trust from Middle Wallop will also provide a fly-past.

 

 

REMEMBRANCE SUNDAY PARADE

Sunday 13th November 2016, Horse Guards Parade

 

As usual, we will form a Contingent at this year's Remembrance Parade at the Cenotaph.  Details will be in the Summer Chinthe.

Cat 4 – Bereaved spouses (of those who have died on operations)
Cat 5 – Veteran Association representatives.
Cat 6 – Military Charities and associated groups

Remember you will NOT BE ADMITTED to Horse Guards Parade if you do not carry your photo identity and proof of residence.

ASSOCIATION ANNUAL REUNION DINNER & AGM, AND SQUADRON FAMILIES DAY

Friday 2nd June - Saturday 3rd June 2017, 1000 at Wattisham

 

This year we are being hosted by the Squadron at Wattisham, and we have been invited to join them on their Families Day.

The Familes Day and dinner will be on Friday 2nd June, and the AGM on Saturday morning 3rd June.

Members will receive full details of the weekend's programme by email, and in the journal.

 

 

FALKLANDS 35

Sunday 18th June 2017, 1000 at Aldershot Military Cemetery

 

Planning is well advanced for the 35th Anniversary Parade of PARA Regt & Airborne Forces Falklands veterans in Aldershot.

1000-1030 - Gather at the Falklands Plot in Aldershot Military Cemetery

(Tea & wads available from 0930)

1100 - Take positions.
1130 - 1215 - Drumhead service

(For those who would rather stay in Aldershot, there will be a large screen, real-time screening of the service on a big screen in Princes Gardens - opposite the 'Traff').

1300 Form up Willems Park. Order of March:

PARA Band, No 1 Guard - Colours and Marching troops from 2 & 3 PARA.
No 2 Guard - Falklands' Veterans.
No 3 Guard - Misc Standards, PRA etc.

1330 - Parade steps off.

1350 - Parade ends at steps of Princes Hall.

Reception for VIP, NOK, hosts etc. in Princes Hall.
Reception in Princes Gardens - beer tent, large screen etc.
1600 Reception and event ends.

Dress: Berets, medals, ties, jackets.
